Club President

George took over the reigns as club president in 2014, and he has been an asset to the club since with his contributions in all areas.

Club Secretary

RHB / RH Off Spin / Wicket Keeper

Stephen is the longest serving playing member of the club and second highest run scorer in club history. His occasional off-spin is even more occasional as he has now taken over the wicket keeping duties from his brother.

Club Treasurer

Helen keeps control of the club finances and has been key in controlling budgets for the Nursery build. As the players will agree Helen also makes a mean spicy Halal chicken sandwhich for tea!

Club Captain

Right Hand Bat / Right Hand Fast Bowler

A genuine all-rounder who can cause problems with his quick bowling and is devastating with the bat. Since joining in 2006 Hamad has been one of the highest run-scorers at the club, and has refined his bowling over time to become one of our key bowlers. In 2010 Hamad took on captaincy duties and continues to perform this role well, winning the Presidents Trophy with the club and leading the team to some impressive league finishes.

Right Hand Bat / Right Hand Off Spin

Umar joined Westquarter in 2004 and in over a decade of service to the club he has shown he can score runs in the top and middle order. Over the years he has developed from a lower order batsman to a dependable opener who is invaluable to the club not just for the runs he scores, but for the enthusiasm and vast knowledge of the game he possesses. Umar has put in considerable work over the last few years to set up  the junior section, which is bearing fruit in the form of youngsters making their first XI debuts and in the promotion of cricket in Forth Valley.

Dave joined the club in the 2014 season and immediately made an impact with with his off spin finishing as the leading wicket taker. Hopefully 2015 will be another good season with Dave adding runs to his wickets.

Right Hand Bat / Right Hand Off Spin

Per is a solid lower middle order batsman and an improving bowler. Per is the most local of the players living within 100 yards of the ground.

Zulfiqar joined the club in the 2013 season but is yet to find a fixed position in the batting line up having batted anywhere from opener down.  He has joined the committee in 2015 and has become a valuable member of the club.

Right Hand Medium Pace Bowler / Right Hand Bat

Stuart joined the club from Boroughmuir in 2003, and has been a club stalwart ever since. One of the most dependable bowlers over the last decade, Stuart will vary his pace and swing to unsettle batsmen, and on his day can be unplayable. He has also improved with the bat over the years and can find the boundary when required. Stuart coaches the Westies and now also undertakes most of the grounds work at Bailliefields.

Right Hand Bat / Left Hand Spin

Abdul joined WRCC in 2005 after a long period out of the game, but from day one he has been a key player at the club, including a spell as captain. His spin bowling is top-class, and he has bowled many match-winning spells. With the bat he has no doubt been one of our best over the last decade. When he gets in a big score is inevitable, and his calm demeanor under pressure has guided the club to many big wins, including the Presidents Trophy win in 2010.

 Right Hand Bat / Leg Spin Bowler

Adam joined the club towards the end of the 2005 season and contributed to our end of season winning run  that year. He has since proven himself as a hard hitting  batsman who can accumulate runs quickly,  with the ability to bat in the top or middle order. In the field he has one of the strongest arms and.  With the ball he can impart considerable turn on his leg breaks and has taken a key wickets. 

Right Hand Bat / Right Hand Medium Pace Bowler

Adham has been part of WRCC for many years due to the involvement of his father, Umar. He finally made is senior debut in 2010 and has since developed into one of our key all-rounders. With the bat the 2014 season saw him break out with some well deserved big scores, and his accurate medium pace bowling has been improving each year.

Right Hand Bat / Right Hand Fast-Medium Bowler

Peter joined the club as a raw youngster in 2006 and blossomed into a powerful batsman and fast bowler. After initial success with WRCC,Peter moved onto a successful stint at local rivals Stenhousemuir, before returning 'home' for the 2014 season. His return was one of many sparks in a 2014 season which saw the club secure promotion to division 2. Now a more mature player, Peter has undertaken the task of improving the fitness and conditioning of the squad. 

Left Hand Bat

Jamshed joined the club in 2013 joining his brother Usman.  He is a defensive left hand bat and capable fielder.

Right Hand Bat / Right Hand Medium Pace Bowler

Usman is one of the first products of the WRCC Westies, who made is bowling debut in the 2012 season.  Usman picked up several wickets in a rain affected season with his late swing bowling and his ability to swing the ball both ways.  His batting is developing and is a solid lower middle order batsman.

RHB / RH Leg Spin

Hassan is another Westies graduate who made his debut in the 2012 season. He has since become a first XI regular with potential with both bat and ball.

Left Hand Bat  / Left Hand Fast Bowler

'Mazhar' is a quick left-arm opening bowler with the ability to swing it both ways. As a batsman he is a typical hard hitting lower order batsman who can score quickly and change the face of a game in the blink of an eye.

Right Hand Bat / Right Hand Off Spin / Leg Spin

Umar is a tall top order batsman who joined the club in 2012.  Umar's bowling is effective and has the knack of breaking partnerships and taking wickets at crucial times.

Right Hand Bat / Right Hand Off Spin

Shoeb Joined in 2006 and has been an excellent asset to the club in two separate spells. He is a true all-rounder and weighs in with runs, wickets, and run outs! A very patient batsman who can switch to all out attack in an instant, and one of the most effective bowlers at the club with many clever variations of pace and turn. 

Right Hand Bat / Right Arm Medium Pace Bowler

Dan is a hard hitting middle order batsman whose job as a pilot restricts his appearances.  As a tall bowler he extracts more bounce which can make life difficult for opposition batsmen.
